We are delighted to announce the signing of experienced goalkeeper Jason Alexander, who joins the Robins ahead of this weekend’s Northern Premier League fixture against Redcar Athletic.
The 30-year-old shot-stopper stands at 6’8” and arrives with a wealth of experience across non-league football. His previous clubs include Basford United, Belper Town, Worksop Town, Clipstone, Loughborough Dynamo, Corby Town, Boston United and Chesterfield.
Alexander’s arrival adds further competition in the goalkeeping department alongside Sam Wilson as new manager Ryan Hindley looks to strengthen his options for the challenges ahead.
New First Team Manager Ryan Hindley said:
“We're delighted to welcome Jason into the fold. He's someone I've worked with previously at Worksop, and we believe he's the right fit for us as a club.
“Standing at six foot eight, Jason is an imposing figure with plenty of experience at this level, having spent a considerable amount of time at Kettering. We wanted to bring in an experienced Step Three goalkeeper who could help us improve defensively and reduce the number of goals we've been conceding, and we're pleased to have secured someone of Jason's calibre.”
Alexander is available for selection for this weekend’s fixture against Redcar Athletic at the Microlise New Manor Ground.
Everyone at Ilkeston Town would like to welcome Jason to the Robins and wish him every success during his time at the club.
