Ilkeston Town Football Club can confirm that it has today parted company with Head Coach Tristram Whitman and Assistant Coach Aaron Large.
On behalf of everybody at the football club, we place on record our sincere thanks to Tris, Aaron and their backroom staff for their hard work, commitment and professionalism throughout their tenure.
Appointed ahead of the current campaign during the close season, both Tris and Aaron have conducted themselves with the utmost professionalism and dedication throughout their time at the Microlise New Manor Ground.
This is not a decision the club has taken lightly. However, recent results and performances have fallen below expectations. With a significant portion of the season still ahead of us, the club believes a change is necessary to provide the squad with fresh direction and renewed momentum.
Everybody connected with Ilkeston Town wishes Tris and Aaron every success in their future footballing endeavours.
In the interim, first-team affairs will be dealt with by club officials and senior players while the club begins the search for a permanent successor.
As we look to improve our position in the table, the clubβs priority remains establishing stability across the first team while conducting a thorough recruitment process to identify the right long-term appointment.
Speaking on the announcement, Chairman Andrew Nally said:
βThis has genuinely been one of the most difficult decisions of my football career.
"Both Tris and Largey are exceptional people who have worked tirelessly for this football club.
βI want to personally thank them for all their hard work and dedication, and I sincerely wish them every success in the future.β
The process to recruit a permanent first-team manager is now underway. Prospective applicants and candidates interested in the role are invited to contact the club directly or submit their CV to secretary@ilkestontownfc.co.uk.
Further updates will be communicated through the clubβs official channels in due course.
