We return to action after a weeks’ break as we entertain Hyde United at the Microlise New Manor Ground in NPL Premier Action.
Last time out, we secured a first victory in 67 days at home against Avro, as two second half strikes from Anthony Dwyer and Luke Cox sealed the deal, and marked Ryan Hindley’s first three points as Robins’ boss.
The break from action has given Ilkeston time to recharge and recover from what had been a busy period, as we look to secure back-to-back wins for the first time since August.
Hyde have struggled as of recent, picking up only one win in their last seven outings, which has resulted in them dropping down to 16th place, sitting just three points above the drop zone.
Last time out, they fell to a heavy 4-0 defeat to Gainsborough Trinity away from home, with three goals in the second period taking the game away from them.
The Tigers have had a recent change in the managerial hot seat, with Nick Spooner replacing Michael Clegg, who departed after their Cheshire Senior Cup defeat to Chester FC.
Ilkeston fared well against Hyde last season, comfortably beating the Tigers 3-0 at the Microlise New Manor Ground, before playing out a 2-2 draw in the return fixture.
Saturday's fixture will also see our Annual Remembrance Service, and here is some key information for supporters:
Ahead of Saturday’s home fixture against Hyde United, we’ll be holding a special Remembrance Day commemoration at the Microlise New Manor Ground.
We have several things planned to honour those who have served and sacrificed for our country, including:
🌺 A live bugler performing The Last Post
🎖️ Attendance from 60 East Midlands Army Cadets
🤝 Breakfast with veterans through the Manor Foundation
❤️ A 105-year-old war veteran reading the Exhortation
We’re also inviting supporters to send in photographs of loved ones who have served, along with their names. These will be displayed on the outdoor screen before the game or at half-time.
Please help spread the word and support the arrangements where possible, so we can give this important occasion the respect it deserves.
Be loud, be proud, be the 12th man.
Come on you Robins!
