It's Northern Premier League Premier Division action at the Microlise New Manor Ground this Saturday as we entertain Redcar Athletic.
Last time out, we fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Guiseley, with a goal either side of the break proving to be the difference.
Appointed as new Ilkeston Town manager on Friday, Ryan Hindley will watch on from the stands in what will be his first assignment in the hot seat, whilst his assistant James Jepson will take charge from the dugout.
Speaking on his return to the club, Hindley said: “It’s a dream come true, I’ve left a club that I love dearly, to a club that I [also] love.
“The club, the infrastructure, what people have done, where we’re sat now, it’s just phenomenal.
“This is the biggest club outside step two in my opinion around these parts.”
Redcar have had a very strong start to their season, as they sit in third place after 12 games played. Their most notable win of the season came back in August, where they hit Warrington Rylands for five.
They were defeated on the road last time out though, as Curzon Ashton emerged victorious over the Steelmen by three goals to one, with Danny Rowe getting on the scoresheets for our opponents this weekend.
Their exceptional campaign so far was preceded by promotion last season from the Northern Premier League East Division, with this level being the highest the club has ever competed at in its short 33-year history.
This will be the first meeting in all competitions between the two sides, with the return fixture taking place on February 27th at Green Lane.
As always, thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.
Come on you Robins!
