We’re back in action at the Microlise New Manor Ground on Saturday as we entertain Avro in the NPL Premier Division.
It was a much-improved display last time out, despite a 3-1 defeat to Gainsborough Trinity, which saw Anthony Dwyer notch his 5th league goal of the season, and his 7th in all competitions.
Avro, who were promoted from the NPL Division One West last season, have followed last season’s success up with a very impressive campaign to date, as they sit in 4th position on 25 points.
Last time out, they were defeated 3-1 by Redcar Athletic, with top scorer Benito Lowe on target.
The Vulcans have had a recent managerial change in the dugout, with former manager Grant Shenton departing to join Radcliffe earlier this month.
Replacing him in the hot seat, is Lewis Hardcastle, who most recently managed Daisy Hill FC, where he was appointed manager in 2022.
The contest between the sides will be the first between them in history, having never met before in any fixture. The return fixture will be held in March at the Whitebank Stadium.
Bring the noise and be the 12th man as Ryan Hindley looks to secure the first three points of his tenure!
Come on you Robins!
